VOV Daily Fresh Mask Pack Volcanic Ash

I’ve got tons of beauty products just waiting to be reviewed. You know, its one of my personal indulgences, collecting beauty and skin care products. Not much make-ups but more into skin care stuff. I don’t usually use it haha, I just like trying which works for me or not, and I must also confess to usually falling head over heels in love with their packaging. So let’s say I collect beauty product, the same way some men collect sport trophies or some folks collect stamps.

Currently, I’m ‘in love’ with Korean and Japanese skin care products. They do have some wonderfully effective, not to mention gorgeously packaged beauty products. Also, you can find some very very interesting lines or let’s say ‘flavors’ in their products. After trying them out, I have also found out that Korean and Japanese skin care products is more effective for me compared to ‘Western’ skin care products, mainly because, hello! I’m Asian.

And owing to this ‘beauty products‘ collecting hobby, I’ll be writing some beauty product reviews every now and then.

Just recently I bought a couple of VOV Facial Masks online and among the items I picked out, here’s what I tried out first coz I was so intrigued. VOV Daily Fresh Wash Off Pack – Volcanic Ash. I know some swear to the skin enhancing properties of volcanic soil/ash but I have yet to try slathering them on my face.

I love love the packaging. It’s so appealing.

The wash off mask have grayish tones and no it doesn’t smell like sulfur like I was expecting. It has a mild grass like scent and since it was mild it didn’t really bother me. It has a thick consistency but it was not soo sticky which I appreciated.

Applying it all over the face was easy enough. Then just let it stay for a couple of minutes and wash it off.

Results: my skin was noticeably dewy and softer to touch. Although the first time I applied it, I felt a teeny weeny bit of itch but no rashes or redness at all. The second time, I didn’t feel anything at all.

I liked this wash off pack and I use it a few times per month. Although truth is, I still prefer the regular mask sheets as opposed to wash off or peel off face masks.

Detoxify Your Facial Skin with Facial Steaming

Facial steaming offers a whole lot of benefits for your skin. It’s the best way to deep cleanse your pores, and therefore helping you get rid of pimples, blackheads, whiteheads and other facial skin impurities.

The steam opens up your pores and loosens clogged dirt, makeup residues, impurities and also dead skin cells. It’s a great way for your body to release toxins which cannot be otherwise be removed by other cleansing methods. For those with oily skin, steaming can be done every other day while those with dry skin should do this at least once a week.

Facial steaming can easily be done at home. You can use what you have at home or if you have it you can also use a facial sauna gadget.

Here’s some tips:

• Cleanse your face thoroughly first by washing with warm water and a mild soap
• Boil a pot of water and add a few slices of lemon or some herbs. For oily skin you can try adding some lemon, peppermint or thyme. For sensitive skin use chamomile or lime. Those with normal skin can use rose, rosemary or lavender.
• Place hot water in a bowl and drape a towel over your head, making a ‘tent’ around the bowl.  Stand in front of the steam and let the steam go directly to your face. Do keep your mouth and eyes closed to avoid irritation.
• Steam your face for 15-20 minutes but not more than 20 minutes.  If you have ultra sensitive skin then 10-15 minutes would do.
• Once you’re done, rinse your face with warm water and pat gently to dry with a towle
• After steaming, it would be the best time to apply a facial mask, since your skin proes are open and could absorb more.

Personally, this has been very effective for me in removing whiteheads and blackheads. And I do love that feeling of softness and freshness after steaming my face.

Skin Care Products I Want To Try..

I love skin care products but I am also very very picky. I don’t like going to facials but I do take care of my skin. I only use mild, unscented skin care products coz I usually have adverse reactions to those heavily perfumed ones. I think being picky with the products I use has given me good rewards. I’m happy that I have clear skin (though a bit oily haha) and I only get occasional mild acne and breakouts.
