Your Own Homemade Deodorizing Spray

Are you fussy about smells in your home? I am and a lot of women friends I have are also particular about smells, most particularly cigarette smells, pet odors, and cooking smells. I find deodorizing sprays expensive though so I’ve been searching the net for do-it-yourself deodorizing spray recipes I could use for my own home.

I came across an article in Ehow.com from contributor Barbara Stanley and I found her tips to be easy and simple enough so I want to try it out. The ingredients are mostly things that I already have..

Let me just share the recipe..Ingredients: 1 cup distilled water, 8-10 drops essential oils, you’ll also need 1 8-10 oz. spray bottle and a funnel.

How to:

  • Add 1 cup of distilled water to the empty bottle. (do not use tap water unless you plan to refrigerate your spray as bacteria grows on tap water)
  • Add 8-10 drops of essential oil.
  • Cap the bottle and allow the oil to infuse for 3 hours. Shake well before using. This is fine and mild enough.
