4 Looks for Fashion-for-Less
Fashion for less? Can you be stylish without going for big brand names and burning a hole in your pocket? Let’s face it, not all of us are born as heirs and heiresses. As much as I love designer brands, most of the time I can’t afford them. But that doesn’t mean one can’t be fashionable on a budget.
That’s why I enjoy hopping around shopping sites looking for fashionable deals. Today’s stop is Kmart. I’m pretty sure most shoppers are familiar with Kmart. Affordable, easy shopping. But do they have stylish enough items? Items that are cheap but definitely chic?
They have lots!!! And you don’t even have to spend a lot to create a really fabulously chic look. Here’s four different looks I created from stuff I saw on Kmart. When put together, all things look like they are worth a thousand bucks.
And really its up to the one who wears it to give it enough vavavoom factor. Sashay with confidence and I don’t think anyone would have the nerve to say you wear cheap clothing.

Read MoreShoe Pick of the Week 13: Women’s Vince Camuto Avo
Ooopsie! I missed posting last week’s shoe pick. I guess I wasn’t really much in the blogging mood. Anyway, as for my previous pick, well it was high heels. Seriously high heels. My friend even said, Oh la la! to that. Haha the thing is I miss wearing heels. Hubby and I are of the same height, and since I’ve been married to him, I kinda shelved the heels and now I’m not so used to wearing them. I’ll probably be needing roadside assistance if I ever venture out with that uber high heels.

Still, this week’s pick is, whatelse, but a high heeled Women’s Vince Camuto Avo ! I just find it ulta-chic. Peep toe and made of rich leather. I just looks so bold and totally sassy!

Available in Barley Nappa and Black Nappa. It’s also currently on sale from $120 now its only $89.95 at OutletBuy.

On Women’s Supplements
Am I currently on the healthy living bandwagon? Perhaps so, but its a bandwagon I don’t want to get out of. Anyway, I’ve doing some reading about women’s vitamins and supplements and have also been checking out supplement critic to learn more about supplements.
Most people don’t have that perfect and ideal diet that’s why we need supplements and vitamins. These can help us be healthier and to cope better with life’s many stresses. Here’s just some pointers I’ve picked from reading various sources.
Choosing vitamins for women is no mean feat because each person have different needs. First, one’s diet must be analyzed so that we could determine what nutrients are lacking from our daily diet. While there are multi-vitamins in the market care must still be applied specially for women with other health concerns.
Older women need higher dosages of calcium than younger women. Vitamin D goes hand in hand with Vitamin C as it helps activate the latter.
For the skin and hair, Vitamin E is recommended. It also has anti-oxidant properties.
Special consideration has to be made for women who are pregnant, in menopausal stage, breastfeeding or those under medication. If you fall under this category, then its still best to consult a medical professional to recommend the right vitamins and supplements.
Read MoreGetting Mentally Stagnant…

Am I? Ihad this really stimulating conversation with a college buddy. Both of us are college grads who used to be career driven but made the decision to be Stay-At-Home-Moms after marriage. Both of us have the similar experiences of being looked down upon because we chose to go this path. And we also do get a lot of comments why we allowed ourself to be stagnant at home.
I find those people who think that way as incredibly ignorant narrow minded. Sure, it may seem like a backward step but to assume that the challenges we face now are trivial compared to when we were career women is just plain ignorant. LOL! To think that now I’m more concerned about finances, social security benefits, retirement, education etc than when I was working.
One thing we both conceded is that there are times that staying at home could lead to mental stagnation. This is something that really scares me off. Perhaps because I thrive on mental challenges. I remember a cousin used to kid me before that I get frustrated like crazy when I fail to figure out a complex problem. That’s me. hehe..
So what do I do to prevent this? I am always daring to step out of my comfort zone. Things that are complex and unfamiliar never fails to attract me. I constantly challenge myself. Like when I was so in a spazz about a kawaii vector graphic I saw online, I dared myself to learn how to use Inkscape and Illustrator to make my own.
I used to have zero knowledge when it comes to HTML, CMS, managing websites, but I was fascinated. So I bought myself books, read tutorials till all of it was somehow decipherable.
I employ the same attitude towards everything else. Like cooking. Hehe I’ve been known to throw in everything I could find in the pantry and somehow manage to concoct edible food.
So I guess that would be my trick to stop being mentally stagnant.. Learning can occur not just in school or in a workplace but anywhere. All I need is a challenge and I rarely step back from jumping out of the box. I don’t like telling myself, that uh that is too difficult, too complex coz if you do you’re already defeated. There really is no harm in trying. I’m still grounded in realities though, if something is too difficult, I ask for help. Simple as that.
